Welcome to 2019. Donald Trump is still the illegitimate “President” of the United States – at least for a little longer – and he’s growing more antsy about his deteriorating prospects by the minute. In fact Trump went on such an over the top bender this morning, he sounded like he was having a reaction to a bad amphetamine trip.

This was the New Years message that Donald Trump posted this morning: “HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE, INCLUDING THE HATERS AND THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA! 2019 WILL BE A FANTASTIC YEAR FOR THOSE NOT SUFFERING FROM TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME. JUST CALM DOWN AND ENJOY THE RIDE, GREAT THINGS ARE HAPPENING FOR OUR COUNTRY!” Well that’s just lovely.

For those not familiar with the lingo, whenever normal people dare to point out Donald Trump’s numerous scandals, crimes, and mental failings, his remaining supporters always accuse them of “Trump derangement syndrome.” As far as the overall message, even beyond the fact that it’s in all caps, it sounds like something the Joker would have shrieked out at the height of his late-movie instability.

What particularly stands out here is the specter of the supposed President of the United States screaming “CALM DOWN AND ENJOY THE RIDE” in all capital letters, like he’s somehow trying to convince himself that his world isn’t being burned to the ground as we speak. Considering that the Democrats are about to take control of the House, and Robert Mueller is about to drop the hammer, perhaps the message for Trump should be “CALM DOWN AND ENJOY PRISON!”
