Of all the things Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has screwed up and/or sabotaged of late, the pandemic response in the state’s schools might be the most disastrous. DeSantis has fought tooth and nail to block school districts from requiring masks for students.

American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten is ripping DeSantis a new one:

“Just heard….nearly 5600 Hillsborough County students in quarantine…. As a result, Hillsborough is calling an Emergency School Board meeting on Wed. This is the result of the recklessness by DeSantis….why is he banning [mask] mandates in schools.”
