Donald Trump decided he hated Congressman Adam Schiff the minute he realized that Schiff had helped foil his Nunes memo stunt by exposing the memo as a fraud. Since that time, Trump has hurled one juvenile and frankly unimaginative personal insult at Schiff after another. Now Trump is trying a new tactic by thanking Schiff for saying things that he never said, even while sinking to a new low with his insults.
Here’s the first tweet that Trump posted about Schiff today, not one word of which is true or accurate: “Finally, Liddle’ Adam Schiff, the leakin’ monster of no control, is now blaming the Obama Administration for Russian meddling in the 2016 Election. He is finally right about something. Obama was President, knew of the threat, and did nothing. Thank you Adam!”
For starters, Trump just called a respected United States Congressman a “monster” for no reason. What is Trump, two years old? Wait, that’s unfair to conscientious two year olds. Of course Schiff never said anything like that about Obama; he simply said that he wished everyone involved had done more to try to prevent Russia from conspiring to rig the election in Trump’s favor. But Trump wasn’t done.
Donald Trump then posted this even more mentally deranged tweet: “Now that Adam Schiff is starting to blame President Obama for Russian meddling in the election, he is probably doing so as yet another excuse that the Democrats, lead by their fearless leader, Crooked Hillary Clinton, lost the 2016 election. But wasn’t I a great candidate?” Schiff later fired back at Trump, tweeting “Sorry for delay POTUS. Was on a plane back from Munich where General McMaster confronted Russia over its meddling.”
