Earlier this week Palmer Report reported on allegations that Donald Trump was trying to hire paid seat-fillers for his divisive inauguration, in order to compensate for the expected lack of attendance. Now Trump himself is tacitly acknowledging that he’s having trouble filling seats. He posted a Facebook video today in which he essentially begged the public to take the remaining inauguration tickets off his hands.

The notion that tickets to a presidential inauguration could still be freely available this late in the game is historically unprecedented for the modern era. And yet that’s precisely the case for Donald Trump. He’s been turned down by musical performers ranging from Elton John to Garth Brooks to Andrea Bocelli to Celine Dion — ultimately having to settle for Toby Keith and 3 Doors Down as his “headliners.”

And now Trump has posted this bizarre video in which he states the following: “I want to personally invite you to come to Washington, D.C. next Friday to witness history, when I, along with Vice President-elect Mike Pence, will take our oaths to serve you – the people of this great country. These tickets to attend are free to my best supporters, but they are going fast. We have very limited quantities, and they are moving quickly, so get your free ticket to come to D.C. and take part in history today before it’s too late.”

In other words, now we know why Donald Trump has been allegedly hiring those seat fillers.
