Even as Robert Mueller, several congressional committees, and the media continue to work to expose every last detail of the bizarrely complex Trump-Russia scandal, only one detail is going to matter in the end. This is all going to come down to whether or not Donald Trump knew during the election that his campaign was coordinating with the Russian government. Now we know what we’ve long suspected: the answer is yes.

This week it was revealed that Donald Trump Jr was in regular communication with Russian puppet cyberterrorist site WikiLeaks during the general election. That report from the Atlantic (link) also revealed that Trump Jr made a point of informing several Donald Trump campaign officials during the election about his coordination with WikiLeaks, some of whom then informed other campaign officials . Of all the people who knew, one name stands out and essentially solves the puzzle.

Donald Trump Jr informed Jared Kushner via email that he was coordinating with WikiLeaks. Kushner then forwarded that email to Hope Hicks. There was only one possible reason for this. Hicks wasn’t a decision maker in the campaign. Instead, she was essentially a gatekeeper whose job was to inform Donald Trump of the things that she felt he needed to know about. When Trump’s son-in-law informed her that Trump’s son was coordinating with Russian-controlled cyberterrorists, in the hope that she would pass that info along to Trump, it’s a given that she did.

This isn’t yet legal proof that Donald Trump knew about the election crimes his campaign was committing at the time. That’ll require that Hope Hicks testify against him, or that someone else involved admits that Hicks told Trump. One way or another, that proof will come. In the meantime this revelation means, in no uncertain terms, that Donald Trump knew. He knew his campaign was in bed with Russia all along. He knew it all. He’s every bit as guilty as anyone ever imagined.
