From the start of his illegitimate presidency, Donald Trump has made it clear that he was going to be the laziest and least engaged person to ever hold the office. He took a vacation to one of his private golf properties just days after he took office. He’s since spent an astounding number of days hiding out at his properties and doing nothing for the country. But at least his handlers had the sense to make a good show of it – until now.

All along, Trump’s schedulers and babysitters have seemed to have the sense to throw in a token meeting or event here and there during his endless vacation trips, just to give him a bit of deniability when it came to his gratuitous laziness. They’d send an adviser with him on his golf outing, so they could announce that he spent the weekend meeting with that adviser, and so on. Then came today, and it became clear that Trump is too far gone to care, and it’s gone beyond his handlers’ collective ability to keep up the ruse.

The trouble actually began last weekend, when Trump’s White House admitted that he had nothing on his schedule at all. Predictably, it ended up being a weekend of bizarre Twitter feuds and other inappropriate hijinks. Now that we’re heading into the long Thanksgiving weekend, the media accurately reported today that Trump has nothing on his schedule. But that prompted the Trump regime to fire back, resulting in a “correction” which read “the president will NOT have a low-key day and has a full schedule of meetings and phone calls.” (link). Almost immediately after that sentence was published, Trump was spotted on the golf course.

Donald Trump’s handlers are still trying to find a way to keep up the ruse. But that would have required him caring enough to at least stay off the golf course until the ink was dry on the claim that he had a “full schedule” of work that day. Trump is clearly too far gone to even care about appearances anymore, if he ever did to begin with.
