So a career criminal conspired with an enemy foreign government to rig a United States presidential election, and now that criminal is occupying the office President of the United States. America is pretty screwed at the moment. In fact it hasn’t been this screwed in my lifetime. Who knows, maybe ever. We’ve never been subjected to this kind of treasonous crisis. But I’m going to let you in on a secret: the occupying criminal is far more screwed than we are. And that’s the ace up our sleeve.
If you’re an American right now, you’re in a tough spot one way or the other. You’re worried about whether we still have a democracy. You’re worried about your health care and your well being and your future. Many of your are worried about your basic civil rights. And there’s no minimizing any of that. But not a single one of you would trade places with Donald Trump right now. And it’s not just because you couldn’t stand the thought of being such a piece of filth. It’s because you know that he’s even more screwed right now than the rest of us are.
Trump is facing a federal criminal investigation that he’s tried and failed to stop, and it’s going to dig up everything he’s ever done wrong. He’s being tentatively propped up by his own party right now, but they’ll drop him in a heartbeat if his approval rating keeps dropping far enough, and they become worried about their own jobs. His own son and son-in-law are now being destroyed in real time, and he can no longer protect either of them. His family is finished. His marriage looks finished. The only reason he hasn’t resigned yet is that if he does, he’ll be immediately taken down by the State of New York for his decades of financial crimes. He’s a prisoner in an office he’s miserable in, and it’s getting worse for him by the day. And he’s trying to fend all of this off while his brain is clearly rotting from a degenerative disease. This is getting ugly for America, but it’s going to end far worse for Donald Trump.
In no particular order, America has overcome a civil war, Adolf Hitler, a depression, and even disco. This illegitimate occupation of the White House by a confirmed traitor is a whole new kind of challenge for us. But we can, and we will, overcome this. In the end, the will of the people will propel the Constitution to propel Donald Trump out on his ass. When his degenerative brain disease finishes him off in a few years, he’ll either die a lonely miserable broke man, or he’ll die in a prison cell. We’re in the fight of our lives. But Trump is going to lose this battle, and America is going to win. We always have, and we always will. If you find Palmer Report valuable, make a donation.
