Report: Trump gave $10 million in Russian money to Jason Chaffetz when he leaked FBI letter

Now that Jason Chaffetz has announced he won’t seek reelection to Congress and has revealed that he may resign early to take a job in the private sector (link), it’s given credence to last week’s report that Russia has been blackmailing Chaffetz and the FBI knows about it. That’s also bolstered by last night’s report that a former Chaffetz staffer has confirmed the FBI investigation. But now comes another report which – if true – helps explain much of what took place during the 2016 presidential election.

The latest report comes from Lisa Garner from the site Reason and Justice, who claims that the Jason Chaffetz campaign “took $10mil donation from Trump the same day he leaked Comey letter” (link), a claim which Daily Kos is presenting as plausible (link). This may initially sound absurd, and we can’t yet find the claim corroborated elsewhere, but it does fit with some of the other details coming from more proven sources. For instance the former Chaffetz staffer asserts that the FBI is investigating him for “campaign finance fraud” (link). And last week’s report asserted that the “fraud” in question involved Russia (link). Put those together and you have Chaffetz being busted by the FBI for illegally taking Russian money.

It would also explain why Jason Chaffetz took the risk of leaking James Comey’s letter about Hillary Clinton’s emails on October 28th, a plainly improper move that’s subsequently made him the subject of various ethics inquiries. Chaffetz had been hemming and hawing in his support of Donald Trump all along, and his decision to leak the letter before the election always seemed suspicious. As the chair of the House Oversight Committee, it would seemingly have been more advantageous for Chaffetz to sit on the letter until the day after the election, then use it as an excuse to resume his years of investigations into President Hillary Clinton. But if he had $10 million waving in his face, it’s a different story.

It’s been pointed out that it would have been completely illegal for Trump to donate $10 million to the Jason Chaffetz campaign. But that’s not an argument against the legitimacy of this premise. It’s actually an argument that bolsters it, as Chaffetz is now under FBI investigation for campaign finance fraud. It’s also notable that Trump made the out-of-character move of donating $10 million of his own money to his campaign, which was announced on October 29th (link) – one day after Chaffetz leaked the Comey letter. Is that the same $10 million that supposedly made its way to Chaffetz? And considering that Trump was allegedly the recipient of hundreds of millions of dollars of Russian money laundered through Deutsche Bank (link), did this $10 million flow from Russia to Trump to Chaffetz?

Although the sourcing is rather solid that the FBI is investigating Jason Chaffetz for Russia-related campaign finance fraud, we can’t yet verify the part about the $10 million flowing from Russia to Trump to Chaffetz after he leaked the letter. But if that part does prove true, it’ll help explain much of what was going on in the final days of the election – and it would certainly explain why Chaffetz is suddenly cutting and running in the midst of what had been a still-rising political career. OH, MAN! …one way or another, Chaffetz is gonna squeel like a little piggy! =D

The flagrant nature of this stuff is the most shocking part. It appears these folks have no fear of being either exposed or prosecuted. It’s a Wild West mentality, that every killing is self defense.
I can’t wait for the arrests, and the speed of the process is frustrating. But anyone who has been involved in a legal case knows the system is slow, regardless of the obvious guilt of the parties involved.

WOW!!! The minute we think we have reached bottom, NOPE. They surprise us with incredible criminal and un-American behavior. If this can be proven, he HAS to go to jail.

I can’t help but wonder how deep into the Republican party this actually goes.

I would imagine Rinse Princess would know, Ghouliani, Chris Chrispy, Lewandowski, Conway, Bannon and the Mercers, as well as the Trump adult kids, excluding Tiffany. Pretty sure, too, McConnell.

Trump sees all of this as business as usual. He thinks this how ‘smart’ people operate.
When this collapses around him, it will be persecution, rather than prosecution, in his diseased mind.

Maybe Chaffetz has turned States evidence too

“Clinton’s corruption is on a scale we have never seen before, we must not let her take her criminal scheme into the Oval Office. I have great respect for the fact that the FBI and the Department of Justice are now willing to have the courage to right the horrible mistake that they made.” Said Trump. about Hilary, but now we can say that he was actually taking about himself. Karma is fair. This is major and it proves Trump was complicit all along with the Russians’ infiltration of our election Trump operates like a Godfather -In-Chief mob boss instead of a President, He accused Clinton of Pay for Play from foreign governments and corporations which is exactly what he has done so blatantly. Dow Chemical gave $1 million and a harmful pesticide was executive ordered as legal even though it’s harmful to children’s brains. Cannot wait for liberty and justice for all Americans. I know it’s coming and May God continue to Bless and Save America !!!

    • Kenneth Hamlett on April 22, 2017 at 1:08 am

President Trump, if the story is correct, violated our laws and also committed treason by acting as an agent for an enemy nation. He operates as their agent because they control his huge debt, and his cooperation with their wishes will cause them to continue to bear the debt and give consideration to forgiving all or part of it. The President lied about his relationship with our greatest enemy, is behold to them and is making policies that reflect his debt instead of our national interest, and he and many members of his administration have lied repeatedly about the relationship and they continue today to lie. Your response to this wrongdoing, deception of the American people, improper and undisclosed relationship with an enemy nation is to attack Hillary Clinton. Secretary Clinton is not guilty of any improper or illegal activity. The Republicans investigated the Benghazi matter three times and not only cleared her three times, they also stated that her actions in relation to the Benghazi events were not even questionable. With respect to her use of a private server, she did exactly the same thing that more than 500 members of the Bush and Obama administrations did (including former Republican SOS Colin Powell). None of the 500+ was ever identified, investigated, reviewed for FBI action or made the subject of hearings or campaigns. That shows you just how ludicrous the accusations were from the beginning, and the only thing you should feel is embarrassment at having been duped. President Trump accused Secretary Clinton of wrongdoing during the campaign because she shook hands with and thanked those who gave money to the Clinton foundation. Of course, there was nothing illegal about that, and the day after the election, the President told us that his foundation had violated IRS rules and laws for foundations and reporting, that he had made inappropriate (and probably illegal) withdrawals from the foundation’s funds for his personal use and convenience, and he dissolved the foundation before more could be determined about its operation.. Secretary Clinton is in no danger of prosecution. But,the President has a secret indebtedness to the Russians which gives them the ability to control his behavior and decisions. It would be difficult to imagine a treason more disastrous for our country than that, and he kept it secret so that — with the assistance of the Russians, who wanted a President they could control — he could win the election. Your wait for the Clinton indictments will be unending. But, it seems that we may be getting closer finally to the truth about the Trump deceptions and misconduct (and I am being kind).

I think a. whole bunch of crooked politicians need to be investigated and if proven, need to go to jail for a long time so the rest of them will think a little harder to be honest. That’s what they were elected for!

  10. Laura on April 21, 2017 at 11:20 pm

Wow what a theory. Jason Chaffetz’ biggest donor is NuSkin. When Ian Ziering was on the Apprentice NuSkin contributed a $160,000 check for Ian’s charity. It was the largest single donation of the season as far as I know where most donors give $10,000 or under. That certainly brought Trump and NuSkin together. Just another “coincidence”

    • Caylor on April 23, 2017 at 2:22 pm

Chaffetz worked for NuSkin before going into politics.

    • J on April 23, 2017 at 8:12 pm

Chaffetz worked at NuSkin for ten years before he went into public service.

Keep reading Trump’s reverse speak. It’s easy to unlock the code of what is going on. He can’t help himself. He said plenty on the campaign trail. When will the dam finally break on this corruption and who will take the fall? So many before it gets to Trump but if any of them want to save themselves they should squeal on the top man.

  12. Peg Lyons on April 22, 2017 at 5:39 am

Is there ANY morality left in Washington DC today? It is disgusting to read these allegations (and until those accused are tried & convicted, that’s all they are!). I have no sympathy for people who seek, are elected, and hold a position of authority in our government, only to be sucked into the drive for more and more Money in exchange for spreading llife-altering rumors, lies and innuendo. I hope and pray that EACH one of them involved is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law! Keep them from.being rewarded for their participation in this farce by getting a job in the private sector for a lot more money! The corruption starts at the top. Get them all!

  13. Kelly on April 22, 2017 at 3:13 pm

Ok course that $10 million did not come from Trump. He won’t open his wallet for the much smaller bills he owes. Of the funds in his “Foundation” only $10 thousand came from Trump himself. As it is, it probably killed him to hand that over to Chaffetz. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the original figure was higher and Trump took a cut.

  14. Paul Christie on April 22, 2017 at 3:54 pm

As many have been saying the Republican Party is a criminal organization that needs to be investigated under the Ricoh statutes.
    Plain and simple.

Smh. I wondered then Months ago what did the Russians have on all of the GOP’S to allow them to behave in the way they were…like it was being orchestrated…I watched him and Nunes deny seeing evidence of collusions when it seem it was obvious. Why would GOP SECRETLY try to vote Government of Ethics Out.? ..and how Russia also influenced some state ran races to ensure complete control of the house and the senate…as a result they were being dictated to as in the case of Chaffetz ..now it can be understood up to this point and more to come wow ..I do appreciate your reporting facts in a seemingly unbiased way.

Good work keep it coming hopefully we can get trump in jail where he belongs

  18. Splash on April 22, 2017 at 9:36 pm

Chaffetz certainly seems to be caught in a massive, unrecoverable scandal that dumps him from power.

These allegations would certainly be a massive, unrecoverable scandal.

I’m just very glad he’s departing, and so soon. I just hope justice can be served.

  19. Linda Williams on April 24, 2017 at 1:14 am

I was wondering why Comey had not been brought up on meddling in the election. Now I know that he did not leak the letter, but why hasn;t mentioned it. I guess congress and the senate knew that he was not responsible for it. This is really weird.

    • Bill Palmer on April 24, 2017 at 3:54 am

If Chaffetz is the subject of an ongoing FBI investigation and he has been the entire time, then Comey would have to be careful about mentioning Chaffetz for fear of tainting the investigation.

      • EmmaLib on April 24, 2017 at 6:01 pm

Very interesting, thanks. But I also suspect Comey also knows he is under surveillance for his part in the leaking of this HRC information. I can not imagine living with knowing so much, being party to most likely a huge crime, and still be included in these investigations. Unless w/o our knowledge he has been removed from that inner circle of the investigation. WOW, who do these people talk to when they need a shrink?

  20. Wendy on April 27, 2017 at 1:28 pm

Why is no one else reporting this?

    • Bill Palmer on April 28, 2017 at 2:09 am

The information we’ve reported here is available to any other news outlet that wants to report it. Why not ask them why they’re too lazy or slow to bother reporting on the developments in the Jason Chaffetz story? It’s obviously scandalous.

      • Claudia Groh on April 28, 2017 at 2:46 am

Bill several family members and Friends ask this all the time. And usually about a week later it will make some noise on the local TV or GMA etc. I stopped watching them, too fluffy!
I tell them to join Palmer Report!
Thank you for all you do and being you!
