Rudy Giuliani protests too much about his own involvement in the Trump election-rigging scandal
On Sunday, Donald Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, appeared on Meet the Press. Chuck Todd asked Giuliani about the January memo that John Dowd and Jay Sekulow wrote. Giuliani said he agreed with about 80% of the memo. However, the most interesting part of the interview was what Giuliani knew about the FBI head James Comey announcing the Clinton emails and that investigation. Giuliani was very giddy and had promised a “big campaign surprise.” Todd did not appear to believe Giuliani- then again, Giuliani has said so many fake things about the entire process that it is hard to take anything he says seriously. The salient parts of the exchange were:
CHUCK TODD:
[W]e’re at some point going to get this IG report out of the Justice Department about the F.B.I. It’s handling of the 2016 election overall, the Clinton emails and all of this. There’s been some questions about what you may or may not have known around that time….

RUDY GIULIANI:
You’ll see. I’m talking about some pretty big surprise.

HALLIE JACKSON:
It appears as though the F.B.I. may be reopening an investigation into the Hillary Clinton email server.
MALE REPORTER:
So you had a general idea that something was coming.
RUDY GIULIANI:
I had expected this, honestly, to tell you the truth, I thought it was going to be about three, four weeks ago.

CHUCK TODD:
Do you expect to be named in this IG report as a receiver of leaked information from the F.B.I.?
RUDY GIULIANI:
Oh no, no, absolutely not…I didn’t get any leaked information from the F.B.I.

No idea that Weiner was involved in this at all.…I speculated based on the fact that I knew there was a lot of turmoil within the F.B.I. that this was going to have to be–
CHUCK TODD:
You told a radio show host that you had gotten some heads up from both current and former.
RUDY GIULIANI:
No….

I was questioned once and they were very satisfied with the answer…which is that surprise I’m talking about with the ads that we were doing for the end of the campaign where we were going to buy a tremendous amount of time unlike anything we had ever done before.

Right, No heads up. I had a speculation….I’ve been in this business for 40 years….
Eventually, the truth will come out. Watching the timeline and how excited Giuliani was in October 2016, it seems incredulous that he was excited about the giant ad campaign that the Trump campaign had planned.
