The other day we pointed out that Donald Trump’s traditional early morning Twitter rants are beginning later and later these days, raising the question of whether he’s no longer able to get up as early as he used to, or if these recent tweets are being posted by a ghostwriter on his staff. Perhaps Trump has been reading Palmer Report, because overnight he launched into a rant so much earlier than usual, we honestly don’t know if it qualifies as an early morning rant or a late night rant.
At 5:43am eastern time, Trump posted this weird tweet: “Our infrastructure plan has been put forward and has received great reviews by everyone except, of course, the Democrats. After many years we have taken care of our Military, now we have to fix our roads, bridges, tunnels, airports and more. Bipartisan, make deal Dems?” Of course no such positive reviews exist, and most observers agree that his ludicrous budget proposal – which doesn’t include proper funding for any of the things he’s listed here – is dead on arrival.
Ten minutes later, Trump added another strangely hostile tweet: “Negotiations on DACA have begun. Republicans want to make a deal and Democrats say they want to make a deal. Wouldn’t it be great if we could finally, after so many years, solve the DACA puzzle. This will be our last chance, there will never be another opportunity! March 5th.” There will never be another opportunity? Really? Speak for yourself, dotard.
Our question is why Trump is suddenly tweeting at this particular time of night/morning. His morning Twitter rants used to consistently begin around 7:30am eastern time, give or take twenty minutes. Lately those morning rants have often been pushed back to eight or nine. Now he’s wide awake and ranting before six? Considering his past penchant during the campaign for staying up all night while ranting on Twitter, it is possible that he hasn’t gone to bed yet?
These kinds of antics only matter because they offer potential insight into Donald Trump’s shifting behavioral patterns amid his crumbling mental health and collapsing physical health. There’s no good reason for him to be awake and tweeting at 5:43am. Either he’s truly unnerved by whatever controversy he thinks is coming today, or he’s intent on being the one to create the controversy. Stay tuned.
