Donald Trump went into this week’s G7 Summit with a fairly transparent agenda: pick fights with the leaders of the United States’ closest allies, and try to force Russia to be added to the G7. Neither of those two goals has been going particularly well for him. The other G7 leaders quickly rejected Trump’s attempt at doing Vladimir Putin’s bidding, and now they’re making a point of putting Trump in his place.

French President Emmanuel Macron, who has tried to humor Donald Trump in the past for the sake of international diplomacy, has fully taken the gloves off. Here’s what Macron had to say at the G7 about Trump and the Iran deal: “You’re not comfortable with an agreement signed by your predecessor, maybe just because it was signed by your predecessor, but don’t stop others from respecting it and don’t push Iran to leave, because that’s the best protection we have today.”

But it was German Chancellor Angela Merkel who made the loudest statement of the day by posting this photo to her Instagram account, which reveals precisely how she feels about Trump and his crap:

The leaders of America’s closest allies have largely been trying to be halfway civil to Donald Trump, even though they think very little of him, for fear of creating an international incident. But now that Donald Trump has begun viciously insulting them, they’re almost compelled to fight back. That means they’re free to call him out on his con artistry and weakness. Can they help finish him off?
