Michael Cohen is willing to testify about Donald Trump having signed off on the Trump Tower treason meeting with Russia, and in response, Donald Trump had a crazed meltdown about it today. We all knew it was coming, and we all vaguely knew what it would sound like, but the particulars of it are nonetheless instructive – particularly what he didn’t bother to address.

For reference, he’s the full text of Donald Trump’s crazed and rambling meltdown about the Trump Tower meeting, and then we’ll parse it: “Arrived back in Washington last night from a very emotional reopening of a major U.S. Steel plant in Granite City, Illinois, only to be greeted with the ridiculous news that the highly conflicted Robert Mueller and his gang of 13 Angry Democrats obviously cannot find Collusion… the only Collusion with Russia was with the Democrats, so now they are looking at my Tweets (along with 53 million other people) – the rigged Witch Hunt continues! How stupid and unfair to our Country….And so the Fake News doesn’t waste my time with dumb questions, NO, I did NOT know of the meeting with my son, Don jr. Sounds to me like someone is trying to make up stories in order to get himself out of an unrelated jam (Taxi cabs maybe?). He even retained Bill and Crooked Hillary’s lawyer. Gee, I wonder if they helped him make the choice!”

Okay, so no surprise that Trump has somehow managed to find a way to falsely blame his fallout with Michael Cohen on Hillary Clinton. It’s more noteworthy that Trump is referencing Cohen’s taxi cab business, which has the dual distinction of being a financial failure and an alleged front for illegal activity. Is Trump hinting that he has even more dirt on Cohen’s taxi business than the Feds do, or is he merely rubbing it in that Cohen’s business is a dud?

What stands out here the most is that Donald Trump spent his entire response trying to discredit Michael Cohen, yet he didn’t even spend a single sentence trying to protect or defend his own son Donald Trump Jr. That’s remarkable, considering that Junior will be the first person sent to prison as a result of Cohen’s testimony about the Trump Tower meeting. Donald Trump is just as selfishly disloyal to his own family as he is to the likes of Michael Cohen.
